Hyspan Barco TypeN/Style II, StyleIII, and StyleIII-V Ball Joints are designed for service to pressure of 1500 psig (103 bar) and saturated steam service to 650 degrees F (343 degrees C). Sizes 2 1/2"(65mm) to 48"(1200mm) are available. Casing and ball are carbon steel. The spherical surface of all carbon steel ball are protected with two mils of chrome consisting of one mil hard chrome over one mil of crack free chrome, and baked on molbdenum disulfide coating. All seals consist of inner and outer contoured seal rings combined with factory injected flake graphite. The seal rings are available made from mineral filled (No.19) and mineral/phenolic filled (No. 20) compounds, and ductile iron.

Type N/Style II Ball Joints

Style II ball joints are factory injected with sealant. The sealant may be replenished in the field through the casing charging port. System pressure must be relieved, and joints allowed to cool before removing plugs for servicing.

Type N/Style III and Style III-V Ball Joints

Style III and III-V Ball Joints allow sealant recharging in the field, under full line pressure and temperature through integral recharge cylinders.

Five year warranty

Hyspan Barco Style III and III-V Packed Type, Ball Joints are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of five years from the date of original shipment from factory. Hyspan's liability shall be limited to the repair or replacement of any material determined to be defective upon return to factory, freight prepaid, or at Hyspan's option, to a refund of the original purchase price. Hyspan shall have no liability, direct or consequential, for any damages arising from the installation, or resulting from the use or misuse, of any defective material. In addition, Hyspan guarantees the satisfactory performance of Hyspan's Style III and Style III-V Packed Type, Ball Joints for a period of five years from the date of original shipment, provided that the Ball Joints are installed, operated and serviced in accordance with Hyspan's prescribed standards. Hyspan will repair or replace without charge, any Style III and III-V, Packed Type, Ball Joints which fails to give satisfactory performance under these prescribed conditions.
